Waterstone Faucets: Case Study

Striking a delicate balance between information and inspiration.

The Challenge: Waterstone Faucets needed to inform and inspire their customers (interior designers and builders) about their new Paintstone product, highlighting both its beautiful design and practical information about the installation process.

The Solution: I storyboarded, modeled, animated, textured, lit and rendered this bespoke 3D animation, striking a delicate balance between information and inspiration.

This animation inspires confidence in customers.

The Impact: This animation inspired confidence in Waterstone’s customers by highlighting the aesthetic possibilities of a paintable ceiling-mounted shower head, while also educating them about how the faucet is installed.

Why Robinson?

My purpose as a visual storyteller is to inspire real people through powerful clarity and honest emotional connection.

Whether you need loose storyboard sketches to visualize user stories, brand illustrations to set the right emotional tone, concept art to spark clarity for your audience, or 3D product animation to explain and inspire, my creative process is the same:

  • First, I meet you wherever you are in your process, and step completely into your shoes: What is your story, and why does it matter? We invest time to fully discover the brain and heart of your vision. We set goals and define deliverables.

  • Next, I explore a wide range of visual directions, identifying metaphors and symbols that resonate with your story’s emotional core to inform my initial designs. Then I present a range of different options for your feedback.

  • Then we iterate, typically with 1-2 rounds of revisions, staying mindful of budgets and deadlines, to prioritize the elements that supercharge your story’s impact.
